Tesla Continues Development of Likely Semi Truck Production at Giga Berlin

Tesla has had a busy week following the terrorist attack on its Giafactory in Germany. Elon Musk arrived at Giga Berlin to support employees during the difficult time. Despite the tension, the company's development continues with the increase in Cybertruck deliveries, possible production of Semi trucks at Giga Berlin, and new Full-Self Driving opportunities in the European market.

Elon Musk visits Giga Berlin

On Wednesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk arrived at Giga Berlin to support the factory's under-pressure employees. They are worried about their safety after an extremist group carried out an attack on Giga Berlin, according to André Thierig. Last week, Vulcan Group set fire to a high-voltage electrical power pole, leaving several settlements in the area and an industrial zone without electricity. This endangered the well-being of thousands of people. Now, Giga Berlin employees are concerned about whether it is safe for them to be in their work clothes outside the factory.

Production at the German Gigafactory has resumed

After a week-long shutdown, production at Giga Berlin has now been restored, Tesla said on X. Electrical supply was restored on Monday evening. On Tuesday, the factory was working to ramp up production. Starting Wednesday, production is back in full swing to make electric vehicles.

Tesla Giga Berlin will likely produce Semi

During the event at Giga Berlin, Musk also said that the factory may begin production of Semi trucks. He said it made sense to produce them in Europe, at the Gigafactory, according to the video. At the moment, the size of the truck does not comply with European approval rules, however Tesla can always make changes to start production in Europe, tapping into a huge market.

Changes in European legislation pave the way for FSD Beta to enter the market

In the middle of last week, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) adopted new rules. They allow vehicles with Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS). This means that advanced driving assistance technologies such as Tesla's FSD Beta are now legal on European roads. The move paves the way for Tesla, which has been testing the features in Europe for some time.

Tesla rewards long-term investors with early Cybertruck deliveries

The company allowed long-term Tesla (TSLA) shareholders to take early delivery of the Cybertruck Foundation Series. To qualify, they must own "TSLA shares on Feb. 28, 2021 and owned at least 500 TSLA shares on Feb. 29, 2024." Those investors who fall into this category can reserve Cybertruck before March 1, 2024 to receive early delivery.
