Tesla has officially overtaken Audi in global sales for the first time. In 2024, the company delivered 1.79 million cars worldwide. During the same period, Audi delivered 1.67 million cars worldwide, showing a 12% decline in sales.
The difficult global economic situation is forcing automakers to review their operations. The decline in demand has forced Audi to reduce production. The company also closed the Brussels plant where the electric Q8 e-tron was produced. However, Tesla continues to develop, demonstrating unique capabilities to operate even in a declining market.

Tesla Launches New Model Y in China
After months of rumors and anticipation, Tesla has finally launched the updated Model Y. Sales of the so-called “First Edition” have begun in China, with deliveries scheduled to begin in March. According to the company’s website, the new Model Y is offered in two variants: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which have a CLTC range of 593 km (368 mi) and 719 km (446 mi), respectively. The range figures are higher than the range of the old Model Y sold in China. The old version had a range of 554 km (344 mi) for the RWD version and 688 km (427 mi) for the AWD version.
According to local media reports, the updated Model Y in China received 50,000 orders on its first day of sales. Keep in mind that this information is unofficial. However, Chinese consumers really like Tesla cars and may want to get their hands on the new model as soon as possible, as experience with previous launches of new or updated cars in China shows.
Production of Updated Model Y Begins at Giga Berlin

Giga Berlin supplies cars to those countries in the Asia-Pacific region where China does not. At the moment, it seems that Model Y will be delivered there and not to the European market since sales of the car have not yet been launched in Europe.
