How to Clean Cybertruck?

By JO WUA

Cybertruck requires special care because of its stainless steel exterior among several other reasons. Therefore, we have compiled a list of cleaning steps you should incorporate into your cleaning regime. We include a quick and full guide below:

Safely Cleaning Your Cybertruck’s Stainless Steel Exterior

Quick Guide:

  • Optimal Cleaner: Use a mild, pH-neutral soap mixed with water for general cleaning.
  • Spot Cleaning: For stubborn spots like tar and grease, apply denatured alcohol. Avoid using on headlights and tail lights.
  • Rinse and Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all soap is rinsed off and dry with soft microfiber cloths to prevent water spots.
  • Immediate Maintenance: Remove corrosive substances like oil and bird droppings promptly to protect the finish, especially important for stainless steel
  • Damage Warning: Avoid cleaners containing hydroxide, highly alkaline substances, or acids, as these can cause damage not covered under warranty

Full Guide

We’ve divided the full guide into sections, you can head to the section most relevant to you.

Cleaning the Exterior

To avoid damaging, denting, or discoloration of your Cybertruck, follow the below steps:

Preventative Maintenance

While full cleaning can be done once in a while, preventive steps should be taken immediately.

  • Immediately remove corrosive substances like grease, oil, bird droppings, etc.
  • Use water, mild nondetergent soap, or denatured alcohol (on tar and stubborn grease spots) if necessary.
  • Stainless steel exterior may change slightly over time in terms of its reflective properties.

Exterior Washing

Below steps should be followed for washing the stainless steel exterior

Pre-wash:

Before thorough clean, remove the larger dirt accumulations:

  • Flush grime and grit from the vehicle using a hose.
  • Flush away mud accumulations from debris-prone areas such as wheel wells and panel seams.
  • Thoroughly rinse all traces of road salt from the underside of the vehicle, wheel wells, and brakes. (winter-only)
Hand-wash:
  • Do not wash in direct sunlight.
  • Mix a mild, pH-neutral soap (such as car shampoo) with water until it gets soapy.
  • Soak a soft cleaning sponge in the soap mixture
  • Hand wash Cybertruck.
Keep in Mind:
  • Avoid car shampoos containing chemicals causing damage or discoloration.
  • Avoid car cleaning formulas containing hydroxide or other highly alkaline or caustic ingredients
