Model Y was UK’s 4th best-selling car in September
Tesla’s electric compact SUV strengthened its position in the UK thanks to strong sales in September. With 5,799 units sold, Model Y was the fourth best-selling car in the country, shared with Hyundai Tucson. Model Y was the only EV amongst the UK’s top 10 best-selling cars.
Tesla increases Q3 2024 deliveries by 6% YoY
Tesla’s Q3 2024 deliveries rose 6% year-on-year, marking its third-best quarter ever. Total vehicle deliveries in Q3 2024 were 462,890 units. Of these, 439,975 were Model 3 and Model Y, and 22,915 were other models, including Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck. Tesla produced 469,796 vehicles, of which 443,668 were Model 3 and Model Y, and 26,128 were other models.
Tesla Giga Berlin produced its 400,000th Model Y
Giga Berlin celebrated a new production milestone: the production of its 400,000th Model Y. In an internal message, the company said that the milestone was reached at the end of September, which means just two and a half years after the factory opened. The company reportedly celebrated the event by giving employees an extended break and free pizza.
Energy Business growth already exceeds 2023 performance
In its Q3 2024 vehicle delivery report, Tesla also reported growth in its energy division. It reported 6.9 GWh of battery deployment last quarter. Total 2024 deployment was 20.3 GWh at the end of Q3, surpassing 2023’s 14.7 GWh.
Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD is now available in Canada and Europe
Tesla has launched the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) in Canada, discontinuing sales of the RWD variant. The new Model 3 offers the longest range in the Model 3 lineup, with an estimated range of 584 km (362 mi) on a full charge, 36 km (22 mi) more than the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant and 161 km (100 mi) more than the old RWD variant from China. Model 3 LR RWD deliveries to Canada now come from the US.
The company has also launched the Model 3 LR RWD in Europe, though the specs for this variant are significantly higher than those in Canada. According to the order configurator, the new variant offers a range of 702 km (436 miles).
Tesla opens orders for non-Foundation series Cybertrucks in the US
Tesla has officially begun inviting pre-order holders to customize their non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks in the United States. This means the company is beginning mass production for the general market. The all-wheel drive (AWD) Cybertruck starts at $79,990, while the tri-motor CyberBeast starts at $99,990.
