10,000 Megapacks in Lathrop

Tesla has announced another milestone, this time in its energy division. Last week, the company’s Megapack factory in Lathrop, California, produced its 10,000th large battery. The factory was built specifically to produce Megapacks as demand for utility batteries continues to grow around the world. Opened in 2022, the factory has an annual production capacity of 10,000 units per year.

Tesla cars are the most American-made

Tesla has once again become the company that uses the most North American-made parts in its production vehicles for its 2025 lineup. According to the latest data provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the company is significantly ahead of traditional automakers that position themselves as American-made.

Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variants of Model 3 are composed of 75% North American parts. Model 3 Performance and all Model Y variants are made up of 70% North American and Canadian parts. Cybertruck is 65% North American-sourced, making it the leader in the pickup truck group. By comparison, Ford F-150 has only 45% of its parts sourced locally, while the F-150 Lightning has only 29%.

Tesla Model Y is the best-selling car in California in Q3

Tesla Model Y continues to dominate the California car market. In Q3, the electric SUV was once again the best-selling car in the state. It will hold the top spot for all three quarters of 2024. From January to September, 105,693 Model Ys were registered, significantly more than its competitors. For comparison, its closest competitor, Toyota RAV4, registered only 49,810 cars.

Tesla Raises Salaries for Giga Berlin Employees
